Receiving Self-Love After Submitting A Draft
“Ah, dang it” I muttered as I looked at my clock right across my bedroom. It was 11 pm and I wasn’t near done writing my draft to submit to a well-known Publication.
In fact, I wasn’t even close to being done — with half of my content still in rough draft shape, and quite frankly (if I were being honest), it didn’t even look worthy to be published anywhere.
- The introduction lacks conviction.
- I had no head image that “resonates” with the viewer.
- The article needs to speak to the readers’ soul.
- It has to be meaningful.
- And let’s not get started with grammar, something I struggle with every day since elementary school.
- This is my topic. This is the reason why I signed up for Medium. It is to publish this article and “wow” the audience.
- And on and on it goes…
An hour later, exhausted, I was done. I sighed out loud, rubbed my tired eyes, copied my draft link, and submitted my draft to the Publication.
I then muttered a prayer to the Medium gods that some good will come out of my first submission to the Publication.
