How to Store Your Data in PostgreSQL After Web Scraping
Tutorial on how to scrape and save data to a remote database for future analysis
Purpose
In my last article, I wrote about using Node.js to scrape a website and send notifications via Twilio.
However, instead of losing all of the scraped data, wouldn’t it be great if we could store the data in a database so it can be consumed later?
We will do just that in this tutorial.
I will explain step-by-step how to get a web scraper running and ultimately connect to an external database to save the scraped data.

Prerequisite
- First, I recommend reading my article “Use Node.js to Scrape and Send Twilio Notifications.” It explains how to get a Node.js application running and how to use cheerio and response-request to make the necessary HTTP calls.
