Getting Married During COVID Can Actually Be a Blessing in Disguise
There she was, my fiancé holding her hand out.
There I was, on one knee and putting a diamond ring on her finger.
And just like that, we were engaged and everything was easy and breezy. Or so we thought….
Little did we know that 12 months later, COVID would hit the US and shut down the whole wedding industry. My then fiancé and I frantically tried to reorganize our wedding party, our venue, and hotel plans. It was just a nightmare.
But, we did eventually celebrate our wedding last October and had a blast doing it. Here are some of the lessons I learned that kept us both sane (and healthy!) during our wedding planning during the pandemic.
Communicate
I cannot stress this enough. This is a simple concept that every couple knows, but fails to implement properly. For my fiancé and I, we had to communicate practically every day on how the wedding was going to proceed, what changes had to be done, and most importantly, how were we going to keep everyone safe. Planning the wedding was one thing, but having to plan it with the mind of having everyone healthy was just another headache to worry about!
